CALEA Accreditation

CALEA Accreditation

During 2006, the Sheriff's Office achieved its two-year goal and became nationally certified by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies  (CALEA). The accreditation program administered by CALEA requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. The Sheriff's Office met over 400 professional standards and was awarded certification in March 2007.
